John Harris Deverell enlisted in to the Life Guards on 11 September 1914 and entered into the France/Flanders theatre of war with the 2nd Life Guards on 3 December 1914. He was invalided from the Army on 6 May 1916 and was awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot). Later served as a Special Constable in Somerset.
