Donald Paterson was born in Barony, Glasgow and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with the 10th Battalion Scottish Rifles, he was killed in action in France on 27 January 1916, aged 29 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. He was the son of Phineas Paterson of 19 Canning Place, Townhead, Glasgow. With forwarding slip for the British War and Victory Medals.
