1918 White Armistice Flag and a 'C' Flt 6th Squadron RAF Ramleh Coloured Streamer.
The first item being a gentleman's large white cotton 'bandana' complete with laundry mark and indian ink inscription 'A.M.Henniker' contained in an O.H.M.S. envelope which is inscribed 'White Flag Dec. 1918 1st English White Flag to enter Liege, carried on motor car by Col. Henniker, from Brussels to Liege and then on to (?) Spa'. This ink inscription is translated from the original pencil note on the right hand side of the envelope. Together with a letter from the Imperial War Museum 13 March 1950 signed by L.R. Bradley, Director, declining Mrs. Low's offer to donate the flag to the museum, as they do not have room for it. The second item measures 134 x 9.5 cms and is comprised of two strips each divided into equal panels of blue, yellow and red.  A khaki twill 'wallet' at the 'fly' end is officially stamped with the crown ‘A.M’. C. Groom Ltd., the other side is hand inscribed 'Return to 'C' Flt. 6 Sqdn Ramleh. Contained in the wallet is a sheet of pink paper bearing the British Royal Arms at the top and issue details at the bottom 'GPP. - 7133 - 10.000 - 7.12.38', the body of the paper is in seven lines of native script. These items were dropped from aeroplanes of the RAF informing or warning local tribesmen, the first item with some age discolouration otherwise good overall condition  (3) £80-120
