5820668 Private W. P. Beaumont, 13 Platoon, “D” Company, 1st Battalion Suffolk Regiment was mortally wounded on the Calicut Road, 26 January 1922 and died on 6 February 1922, aged 26 years.

Beaumont was a member of a party sent out from Malappuram to capture a rebel leader who was known to be at the Kondotti Mosque. On arrival at the mosque fire was opened on the party and before he was able to alight from the transport he received a gunshot wound to the head which proved fatal. With copied research.
