Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 5 clasps, Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Orange Free State, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal (1562 Bglr. T. Green, Somerset Lt. Infy.) initial re-impressed, slight edge bruising, very fine £120-160

Thomas Green was born in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. A Farm Labourer by occupation and a member of the 4th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment, he attested for the Somerset Light Infantry at Worcester on 14 April 1886, aged 18 years, 2 months. Appointed Bugler in June 1893. Served in India, November 1888-February 1894 and in South Africa, November 1899-April 1903. He was discharged having completed his second period of service on 13 April 1907. With the onset of the Great War he attested at Worcester on 22 October 1914, aged 46 years. Serving at Home he was discharged as no longer physically fit on 28 August 1916. Thomas Green, Farm Bailiff, died on 18 January 1951. With copied service papers and death certificate.
