With copied roll extracts, showing variously, entitlement to the clasp ‘Cape Colony’, or to the clasps ‘Cape Colony’, ‘Transvaal’ and ‘South Africa 1901’; listed as ‘invalided’; also shown listed for the King’s South Africa Medal with 2 clasps, but the roll later amended ‘Not entitled - Medal retd. to Woolwich’ - as a consequence of his service in South Africa, 2 April 1900-5 August 1901 and 23-31 May 1902.
