Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Bhurtpoor (J. Greason, 11th Lt. Dragns.) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, good very fine £1000-1200

John Greason was born in Manchester. A Clerk by occupation, he attested for the 11th Light Dragoons at Maidstone, Kent on 7 April 1821, aged 20 years. With the 11th Light Dragoons he was promoted to Corporal in October 1828; reduced to Private in June 1830 and promoted to Corporal once more in December 1837. He served over 15 years in the East Indies and was present at the siege of Bhurtpoor. Corporal Greason was discharged on 31 July 1838 as a consequence of the reduction of the regiment.
