Great Britain, RMS Arabic II, c.1910, an enamelled picture brooch, unsigned, vessel steaming right, detail picked out in blue, red, white and black enamel, 26mm. Enamel chipped at top, otherwise good very fine and rare, the colours fresh; with pin back for wearing (£60-80)

RMS Arabic II, built at Harland & Wolff, Belfast, 1902; began service on the Liverpool to New York route, 28 June 1903; torpedoed by the submarine U-24 off Kinsale, 19 Aug. 1915, with the loss of 44 lives, plus that of Ginger, the ship’s faithful cat.
