France, Franco-British Exhibition, London, 1908, a plated uniface bronze plaque by C.P. Pillet after A. Maignan, for Sandoz, Britannia greeting La France, both holding flags, 100 x 73mm, edge stamped 40 (Coll. R. Marx 466; BDM IV, 538; BM Acq. 1978-82, pl.44, 122; cf. BDW 18, 456). Good very fine, the scarcer of the two plaques by Pillet for this event (£60-80)
