France, Cinéma, 1928, an Art Deco bronze award medal by M. Delannoy, Venus rising in triumph from the light emitted by a film projector, images behind, reverse the interior of a cinema, screen in centre, named (Ginette Leclerc), 68mm (CGMP p.138; Classens 119; Jones, Art of the Medal, 425; cf. BDW 5, 134a). Extremely fine and practically as struck, rare as a named medal; in official red case of issue (£90-120)

Ginette Leclerc (1912-92), French actress, who co-starred in the 1938 film La Femme du Boulanger, by Pagnol; perhaps this medal was presented to her at the film’s premiere
