Lefèbvre, bust three-quarters right, reverse crossed cannons and wreath, ships in background, tablet in foreground, named (Prix Henri Schneider, 4mè Section, Constructions Métalliques, Maurice Lévy, 1903), 82gm, 50mm. Extremely fine and virtually as struck, extremely rare; in original red fitted case (£600-800)

Adolphe-Henri Schneider (1840-98), son of the founder of L’Établissement Metallurgique de Creusot; Maurice Lévy (1839-1910), French mathematician and engineer, became Professor at the Collége de France, 1885. See lot 841 for other medals awarded to Lévy
