France, Duke Karl Alexander of Lorraine, 1754, a bronze medal by J.-B. Harrewyn, armoured bust right, reverse a large array of objects, including scientific and nautical instruments, 48mm (Wurz. 4479; BDM II, 431). About extremely fine, rare (£120-150)

An interesting medal with a documentary reverse. Jean-Baptiste Harrewyn, Belgian-born medallist, worked in Vienna from 1753-64, then served as mint engraver at Brussels, 1764-83
