Charles I (1625-1649), Bridgnorth-on-Severn mint, Shilling, 1646, mm. BR on obv. only, plume before face erased (?), 5.49g/9h (SCBI Brooker 1127; N –; S 3039A). Some surface marks, slightly bent and creased, otherwise nearly very fine, extremely rare £1,500-2,000

Brooker states that a die (this one?) with the Bristol mintmark unaltered has had the plume in front of the King’s face erased but that the same die, with the mintmark overstruck, has the plume still showing (or reinstated). Neither of these arrangements makes much sense and the cataloguer feels that 1127 is from a similar die but not the same as 1128 and 1129
