Provenance: Bt C. Plante September 1994.
In 1854 the British Government sent William John Sanger Tucker, originally from Bishops Nympton, Devon, to Trinidad to help expand trade relations with Venezuela. Tucker aquired the 5,500 acre La Cuesa estate and renamed it the Tucker Valley Estate. It is thought that the tallies date to the period between 1885, when the estate was first planted with cacao trees, and 1905, when the estate was acquired by Trinidad Land & Finance Co
