Bombardier Henry Matthews, Royal Garrison Artillery, was killed in action, France & Flanders, 30 September 1917, aged 22. He was a native of Cartmel Fell, Grange-over-Sands, Lancashire, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
