D.S.M. London Gazette 2 May 1944: ‘For courage, resource and devotion to duty in H.M. Ships Quilliam, Queensborough, Raider, Ilex and light coastal craft in operations against the enemy.’

The following details are taken from the original award recommendation: ‘During the above operations this Petty Officer, as Captain of the Pom-Pom, has always kept his Gun Crew in a high state of efficiency and during the many encounters with enemy shipping at close quarters has been quick to open fire, and with most accurate aim.’ Sold with copies of recommendation and patrol reports.
