A scarce Great War D.S.M. awarded to Gunner A. Fenton, Royal Marine Artillery, serving with the Anti-Aircraft Brigade in France

D.S.M. London Gazette 1 January 1917: ‘The following awards have been approved. Gunner Adam Fenton, R.M.A., No. RMA/6904 (RFR/B-353).

Gunner Adam Fenton served with the Royal Marine Brigade at Ostend and was slightly wounded during the fighting there between 27th and 31st August 1914. After the disbandment of the Royal Marine Artillery Battalion, Fenton again went to France with the main R.M. Brigade. He was again slightly wounded at Dunkirk in the fighting between the 7th and 18th October 1914. After the formation of the Anti-Aircraft Brigade, Fenton joined “B” Battery which formed part of the British Mission in Belgium, serving with the R.N. and R.M.A. Siege Guns. Sold with copy service papers and other research.
