M.C. London Gazette 2 April 1919; Citation London Gazette 10 December 1919: ‘T/Lt. Edward Thomas Brown Radford, 19th Bn. Middlesex Regiment. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion from 5th to 8th November, 1918, on the west bank of the Scheldt, in forming dumps of R.E. material, many of which were formed within 100 yards of hostile machine gun posts and under heavy fire. The success of the bridging operations was largely due to his personal efforts and determination.’
