Pair: Lieutenant-Commander H. T. Dunn, Royal Naval Reserve

British War Medal (Lt. Commr., R.N.R.); Royal Naval Reserve Decoration, G.V.R., the reverse hallmarked London 1920, extremely fine (2) £80-120

Dunn was the senior R.N.R. Lieutenant in H.M.S. Kent, from September 1914 to August 1916. He took part in the battle of the Falklands on 8 December 1915, when Kent was in action with, and sank, the Nürnberg. The Dresden, having escaped on this occasion, was hunted for three months and was finally located through an intercepted message. Kent and Glasgow found her on 8 March 1915, and after an exchange of shellfire Dresden surrendered but immediately scuttled herself. Sold with some further details.
