Instituted by H.M. The King in March 1943 for award to all officers and men of the Royal Naval Patrol Service, including R.N., Pensioners, R.F.R., R.N.R., R.N.V.R., and R.N.V.(W)R., personnel, and all those who enlisted for Hostilities only since the outbreak of war, employed in Minesweeping and anti-submarine craft at home or abroad manned from Patrol Service Central Depot, Lowestoft.
