Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, Hunt & Roskell type signed ‘J.B.’ (C. B. Wynne, 90th Lt. Infy.) nearly very fine £80-120

Lieutenant Charles B. Wynne served at the siege and fall of Sebastopol from 12 July 1855, and was one of the storming party at the assault of the Redan on the 8th September (Medal and Clasp). He served in the Indian campaign from July 1857, including the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, with Outram at the Alumbagh, and subsequent capture of Lucknow (mentioned in Sir J. Outram’s despatches). Served with Grant’s field force throughout the hot weather campaign (Medal and Clasp).
