Waterloo 1815 (James Hopwood, 23rd Regt. Lt. Dragoons) renamed in a contemporary style and fitted with replacement silver suspension loop and very large ring, this stitched with an old contemporary ribbon, edge bruising, good fine £80-120

James Hopwood was born at Spotwood, near Lancaster, and enlisted for the 23rd Light Dragoons on 17 November 1809. He served abroad from March to December 1815 and was present at the battle of Waterloo. He was discharged at Radipole, on disbandment of the regiment, on 24 November 1817, and was not recommended for a pension. Sold with further research.
