Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Vittoria (John Hill, Corporal, 1st Life Guards) edge bruise, otherwise very fine £400-450

John Hill was born at Sutton, Yorkshire, and enlisted there for the 1st Life Guards on 11 October 1809. He was discharged to Pension in the rank of Corporal of Horse on 3 November 1818, in consequence of ‘very severe illness in the Peninsula and in France, by which his constitution is entirely broken, of Pulmonary disorders with frequent spitting of blood from the lungs.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
