26th (Cameronians) Regiment, a scarce officer’s gilt and silver QVC star pattern helmet plate 1878-1881, usual Garter and laurels overlay, but with ‘26’ in silver at the top junction of the laurels, a silver scroll at the base, ‘CAMERONIANS’, and a silver mullet in the centre on a black leather backing (Bloomer Bk I No 92), no gilt remains on the back plate and overlay £200-250
