James VI (1567-1625), Second coinage, Half-Merk, 1577, mm. cross on rev. only, rev. crown in first and fourth quarters, thistle in second and third, 6.83g/12h (SCBI 35, 1225; SCBI 58, 1412-13; cf. B 10; S 5478). Some double-striking, especially at date which reads 157777, otherwise good fine or better £200-250
