Davis, slave, freed of his shackles, stands with arms raised, rev. legend within crowned rose-wreath, 51mm (BHM 1668; E 1275). Light surface marks in obverse field, otherwise extremely fine £200-250

This medal is usually found without Carter’s name, Brown recording only the single item in the medallist’s family collection
