Birmingham County Football Association, Charity Cup, a gold award medal by Vaughton, winged female holding football, rev. arms of Birmingham and supporters, edge engraved (Winners 1926-27), 29mm, 9ct, 20.42g. Minor edge nicks, about very fine, with clip and ring for suspension; in half of original display box £200-300

Attributed to George Jakeman (b. April 1899), who played for Aston Villa between 1922 and 1929 and was a member of the winning side who defeated Birmingham City in the 1926-7 season’s Charity Cup. Jakeman had previously been capped for England in a game against Scotland in 1926
