William Hollings was born in Walworth, Surrey and enlisted at Mill Hill, Middlesex. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Middlesex Regiment, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 7 November 1914. He died of wounds on 24 December 1914, aged 23 years. Private Hollings was buried in the Estaires Communal Cemetery, Nord, France. He was the son of F. and Amelia Hollings of 60 Bridport Place, Hoxton, London. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
