William Henry Diven Millar, who was born in February 1923 and who originally enlisted in the Royal Ulster Rifles as a boy recruit in October 1938, was commissioned as a Captain in August 1965, and served on attachment to the Abu Dhabi Defence Force 1968-71. He was placed on the Retired List in August of the latter year. Millar had earlier served as Bugle Major, C.S.M. and R.S.M.; sold with related research, including copied extracts from the regimental journal.
