Mark Lee Stephenson was born in Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham on 30 May 1912. He enlisted into the Royal Artillery on 23 November 1931. Served in India, December 1932-November 1937. Transferred to the Reserve in December 1937. Recalled to active duty in August 1939, he served in India, March-June 1941 and in the Middle East, June 1941-April 1943. Medically discharged on 29 May 1943. With copied service notes.
