Michael John Gilmore-Kerr was born on 7 August 1932 and was educated at Tonbridge School and Sandhurst. Commissioned into the R.A.O.C. in 1952, he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1954, Temporary Captain in 1955, Captain in 1958 and Major in 1965. He retired in 1974. Served as DADOS 1st Division BAOR, January 1968-June 1970 and as SATO Ord. 4 BAOR, June 1970-June 1972. Recipient was a qualified Ammunition Technical Officer. With some copied notes.

Recipient was seconded to the South Arabian Army in Aden until independence in 1967
