Charles Frederick Davis was born at Hounslow, Middlesex, on 27 August 1880, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class aboard H.M.S.
Impregnable on 9 April 1896. He served aboard Barfleur from October 1898 to December 1900. He joined the Royal Fleet Reserve in August 1919 and was discharged in June 1919.
