Private Joseph Sage, 28th Infantry Battalion, embarked on H.M.A.T. Ascanius from Fremantle on 29 June 1915. He was killed in action in France on 29 July 1916. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
