Corps); British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. oak leaf (Capt.); India General Service 1908-35, 1 clasp, Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 (Capt.) renamed; Delhi Durbar 1911, silver, unnamed; Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 1st issue (Sub-Conductor, S. & T.C.); Egypt, Order of the Nile, 4th Class breast badge by Lattes, silver, silver-gilt and enamel, rosette on ribbon, mounted as worn, last with some enamel damage, generally very fine (8) £550-650

Henry John L. Jolley was born on 10 December 1874. Entering the Supply and Transport Corps, he served as a Sergeant during the Boxer Rebellion, taking part in the relief of Pekin. Appointed a Conductor in February 1915 and an Assistant Commissary with the rank of Lieutenant in June 1915. Served in the Tochi Valley, 1914-15. Subsequently twice mentioned in despatches and awarded the Egyptian Order of the Nile.
