China 1900, no clasp (W. Foy, Sergt., R.M., H.M.S. Daphne); Royal Marine Meritorious Service Medal, G.VI.R., 1st issue (Ply.4141 W. Foy, Clr. Sgt., R.M.); Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (William Foy, Sergt. No.4141 Plymo. R.M.L.I.) mounted court style for wear, some contact marks, very fine and better, scarce combination (3) £700-800

William Foy was born in Notting Hill, London on 25 April 1869. He joined the R.M.L.I. at Walmer on 25 July 1887. During the Boxer Rebellion he served on H.M.S. Daphne. Awarded the Royal Navy L.S. & G.C. in September 1902. He was discharged, having completed his service, on 24 July 1908 and was enrolled in the R.F.R. on 21 February 1909. Recalled in August 1914, he served throughout the war and was demobilised in February 1919. Awarded the R.M. M.S.M. on 18 December 1942. With copied service papers.
