Hunter served in the Royal Naval Air Service in France and Flanders from April until November 1916, was advanced to Leading Mechanic in November 1918, and re-mustered in the newly established Royal Air Force as a Corporal Mechanic in April 1918.

Burge enlisted in the Royal Naval Air Service in January 1918, was mustered as an Air Mechanic 3rd Class in the newly established Royal Air Force in April 1918 and served in No. 209 and No. 217 Squadrons in France and Flanders, prior to being demobilised in March 1919.

Baker enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps as an Air Mechanic 3rd Class in January 1918, was re-mustered as a Private in the newly established Royal Air Force in April 1918, and joined No. 30 Squadron out in France shortly before the War’s end.

Colgate enlisted in the Royal Air Force as an Air Mechanic 3rd Class in June 1918 and went out to France that October, prior to being discharged in April 1920.

Mills enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class in June 1915 and was embarked for France that July, where he joined the strength of No. 5 Squadron. He subsequently remained actively employed in that theatre of war until the end of hostilities, latterly having served on the strength of No 18 Squadron. He was discharged in April 1920.
