O.B.E. London Gazette 9 January 1946.

Robert Hilton Woodrow, who was born in South Shields in November 1887, served as a Master throughout the 1939-45 War, and was awarded his O.B.E. in respect of services in the S.S.
Silversandal from October 1943 until July 1945; sold with his original Minister of Transport campaign award forwarding slip and a quantity of research, including confirmation of his 1939-45 campaign award entitlement - but the whereabouts of his British War Medal 1914-20 remains unknown.
