Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (14247 Sgt. F. Healey, 13th Impl. Yeo.) extremely fine

Frederick Healey was born in Bangalore, India. A Bank Clerk by occupation, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Newbridge on 15 January 1900, aged 32 years. He was posted as a Private in the 45th Company 13th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry and served in South Africa, 13 March 1900-4 March 1901, his papers list his presence at Lindley, Dewetsdorp and Riddesdorp. As a Sergeant he was mentioned in Lord Robert’s despatch of 4 September 1901. Ranked as a Lance Sergeant he was discharged at his own request at Shorncliffe on 3 April 1901. With copied attestation and discharge papers.
