Memorial Plaque 1914-18 (William John Vincent), good very fine £40-60
William John Vincent was killed in action on 22 August 1918, while serving as a Private in the 10th Battalion, Shropshire Light Infantry. The son of Frederick and Eleanor Vincent of Canning Town, London, he was 19 years of age and is buried in Vielle-Chapelle New Military Cemetery, Lacouture; the Commonwealth War Graves Commission register also lists three further casualties with the surname ‘Vincent’, with undefined initials ‘W. J.’
