Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (A. L. Copland, Captn. 57th Regt. 18th May 1855) contemporary engraved naming, fitted with ribbon buckle, minor marks, otherwise good very fine £400-450

Alexander Lester Copland was gazetted as Ensign in the 57th Foot, by purchase, on 14 December 1849, becoming Lieutenant in October 1852, and Captain on 29 December 1854. He served at the siege of Sebastopol from 15 November 1854 to 7 February 1855. He received his medal from Queen Victoria at Hyde Park on 18 May 1855. Captain Copland resigned his commission in 1859.
