Daniel Lear, served as a Landsman on H.M.S.
Circe, 32 as part of the combined naval (Rear-Admiral Cochrane) and military assault and capture of the French-held island of Martinique in the Caribbean, on 24 February 1809 He served in the same rate aboard H.M.S. Abercrombie, 74 (formerly Hautpoult) for the combined naval and military operations, commanded by Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Cochrane and Lieutenant General Sir George Beckwith, which culminated in the capture of the French-held Island of Guadaloupe, January - February 1810. Greenwich Hospital roll confirms (No. 9343). Sold with copy service record and other research.
