France, Exposition des Arts et Techniques, Paris, 1937, a white celluloid medal by Mazzoni [after G. Urbain], bust of Paul Schützenberger left, reverse legend within sheafs of wheat, ACETATE DE CELLULOSE, etc., 40mm. Marks on rim, otherwise about extremely fine and very rare (£25-35)

Paul Schützenberger (1827-1897), chemist; together with his colleague Laurent Naudin of the Collège de France he discovered the process for making cellulose acetate in 1865
