A statistical document which, among other facts, reveals that £90 of counterfeit silver was taken on the admission gates “and a bad half-sovereign”; the receipts of the eight London railway companies went up by over 27% while the exhibition was on; and that the total number of visitors was 6,063,986, representing a daily average of 43,007, a figure that doubtless those behind the Millennium Dome would like to emulate
