A COLLECTION OF 1851 GREAT EXHIBITION MEDALS, Exhibitor’s Medals, 1851 (3), in bronze, by W. Wyon, similar, edge inscribed (British Guiana, No.162; India, Warner; India, W.A. Tyler, CS), all 44mm (BHM 2463; E 1462) [3]. First brilliant and practically as struck, second extremely fine, last nearly so; first in original maroon case of issue (£35-50)

British Colonial-related issues. 1st awarded to John Colling, for a model of a Birch Indian’s house; 2nd awarded to a Mr Warner of Murshidabad, trade not stated; 3rd awarded to William Hurlinge Tyler, Agra, a member of the Central Committee at Calcutta, who entered the Indian Civil Service in 1823 and was for many years Collector and Magistrate at Muttra.
