Martinique, Authority of September 1805, Twenty-Two Livres per gros, BRAZIL, John V, 12,800 Réis, 1727, Minas Gerais, obv. countermarked 22 above eagle raised within a shaped indent, 23.01g/355.1gr/14.79 dwt (Gordon 19; Prid. p.242, fig. 22). Coin about fine, medium clip around the edge and countermark very fine, of the highest rarity; the only recorded Martinique countermark on a ‘Double Joe’ £5,000-6,000
