Eight volumes, bound in four. 12mo (17.5 x 11 cm), worn black leather spine, marbled boards. Finely engraved frontispiece of ‘History Protecting Medals from the Ravages of Time’. 240 engraved plates (30 in each part but lacking 201, 205 and 206 in part 7, with photocopies of 205 and 206 loosely inserted), each illustrating both sides of four tokens. The plates are dated from 1795-1797. Interleaved throughout. No preface, James Wright’s 4 page Observations on Coins, or the index (Manville 238a). £400-500
