Also the Seals of all the Corporations in that County. 2nd edn, Headingley, privately printed for the author, 1858 (and 1870 addenda). 4to, original brown cloth, gold blocked title. viii, 1-32, (2) addenda, 6 plates (1-6), 33-40, (2) addenda, 41-44, 1 plate (nn), (2) addenda, 45-48, 9 plates (7-15), 49-62, 1 plate, text illustrations, 17 plates (1 nn + 1-16). Copy with full addenda. Photo of Boyne on verso of free endpaper. Note on endpaper in Hamer’s hand, ‘This copy has an addition of 16 plates of Yorkshire Ecclesiastical Seals. These apparently were printed c. 1869, but ?- if ever published in book form*. See my other copy of this work with a note by Boyne on p62. *See Boyne’s ‘The Yorkshire Library’ 1869. p.18, item XXII which refers to the intended pubn. of these Seals & states that some 20pls have already been engraved. Here is also mentioned the fact that only 150 copies of this work were printed.’ A desirable association copy, rare (Manville 455).
