Three: Private J. Walshe, Royal Munster Fusiliers

1914-15 Star (3703 Pte., R. Muns. Fus.) surname spelt without the ‘e’; British War and Victory Medals (3703 Pte., R. Mun. Fus.); together with memorial plaque (James Walshe) all contained within an elaborate oak frame 74cm by 44cm, with central cast bronze effect panel, depicting the Cenotaph with a soldier standing either side and the words ‘The Glorious Dead - The Path of Duty Was The Way to Glory 1914-1919’, B.W.M. with edge bruise, otherwise generally good very fine or better (4) £150-200

Private James Walshe was born at St Finbarr’s, Cork and enlisted at Kilworth Camp, Cork. He was killed in action France and Flanders 28 December 1916 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers.
