1914 Star, with copy clasp (2. Lieut., R. Muns. Fus.); British War and Victory Medals (Capt.); Defence and War Medals, lacquered, good very fine (5) £180-200

Major Harry Alexander Newson was taken prisoner of war during the retreat from Mons 16 September 1914; interned in Holland, before being repatriated on18 November 1918. After the Great war he served as Adjutant T.A. Lancashire Fusiliers, 2 May 1923; being promoted to the rank of Major in 1943. During the Second World War he served at the Infantry Record & Pay Office. Sold with detailed research, including a photocopy of a group photograph including recipient.
