India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Pegu (Corpl. Robt. Cann, 1st Eur. Bengal Fusrs.) edge bruising, otherwise good very fine £80-100

Corporal Robert Cann, a rope maker from Chesham, Kent enlisted into the 1st Bengal European Fusiliers, November 1844. He transferred to the 3rd European Regiment in November 1853, and whilst serving with them during the Indian Mutiny received a bayonet wound to the face, 28 October 1857. Cann died in Lucknow Hospital on 15 June 1862. Sold with a comprehensive research file.
